Maoist observed one day bandh in Orissa’s Malkanagiri district

Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Malkangiri : CPI Maoist has observed one day bandh in Malkanagiri district on Saturday. Maoists have allegedly closed roads by felling trees on the road sides. Road communications of major areas of the district like Kalimela, Motu, Chitrakonda and MV-79 village have been cut off. Both people and police are stated to be fearing to go to the road blockade areas apprehending landmines might have been set in those areas. The more serious threat that has kept people in dilemma are the posters which have been pasted on walls of different places.
In these posters Maoists have demanded that tribal youths be employed in Police department, adivasi Status to Kenkareddy tribe and to control price rise of essential commodities.
Before resorting to the band, Maoists have destroyed a BSNL tower in MV-74 village on the wee hours of Saturday. As roads are closed, four wheelers in large numbers have been stranded in different aress on the roadsides.
