POSCO Pratirodha Sangram Samiti decides to intensify stir from 10th Sept in Orissa

posco_naxall_248Report Amarnath Parida; Jagatsinghpur: Posco Pratirodha Sangram Samiti has decided to conduct a public meeting at Balitutha under Erasama block to intensify stir against proposed Posco steel project after the decision of Posco company for beginning of plant work in early next year .

The stronghold of PPSS activities in proposed Posco affected areas Dhinkia, Gobindpur, Patana, Nuagaon and Gadkujang villages had been weakened after arrest of PPSS leader Mr Abhya Shaoo in last October ’08. Meanwhile, Mr Shaoo has been released from jail in last month after being languished seven months of jail. His release has given new inspiration and cheer among the Posco affected villagers and anti Posco activists in which PPSS has decided to conduct welcome ceremony on 10th September at Balitutha to generate public support against Posco steel project and also intensified stir against said project for the well being of the affected villagers . Maoist Rebels in Orissa warns Teachers not to accommodate Cops

231201275Report by Deba Prasad Dash; Malkangiri: With the Maoist infested bordering states are working on launching a massive joint operation against the Maoists from the third week of this month,the red rebels have warned the teachers of death penalty if they accommodate the cops in the school building.

The warning is significant in view of the arrival of huge CRPF and other armed police personnel’s at different locations in the district including the district headquarter town for a massive joint operation against the Maoist rebels. The rebels have given this warning in hundreds of posters and banners displayed at various places in Chitrakonda area since last night.

The road connectivity to the Maoist stronghold Chitrakonda,some 60 km from the district headquarter also remained snapped since this morning due to felling of large numbers of tress on the Balimela-Chitrakonda road.

The Maoists have blocked the Balimela-Chitrakonda-Sileru(A.P) road in between Tunnel camp, Chitrakonda and bordering Sileru area of Andhra Pradesh by cutting down more than 40 trees on the said route.In another incident, the Maoists have blown up the Airtel mobile tower at M.V-74 under M.V-79 police limits in the district.

Maoist observed one day bandh in Orissa’s Malkanagiri district

3sanjib3Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Malkangiri : CPI Maoist has observed one day bandh in Malkanagiri district on Saturday. Maoists have allegedly closed roads by felling trees on the road sides. Road communications of major areas of the district like Kalimela, Motu, Chitrakonda and MV-79 village have been cut off. Both people and police are stated to be fearing to go to the road blockade areas apprehending landmines might have been set in those areas. The more serious threat that has kept people in dilemma are the posters which have been pasted on walls of different places.

In these posters Maoists have demanded that tribal youths be employed in Police department, adivasi Status to Kenkareddy tribe and to control price rise of essential commodities.

Before resorting to the band, Maoists have destroyed a BSNL tower in MV-74 village on the wee hours of Saturday. As roads are closed, four wheelers in large numbers have been stranded in different aress on the roadsides.
