Manipur: Three killed in encounter claim AR, custodial killing says wife of one

IMPHAL, Oct 9: At least three militants suspected to be cadres of the proscribed PREPAK were gunned down by the troops of 28 Assam Rifles last night in between the Sanapat and Andro under Yairipok police station and recovered arms and ammunitions from the possessions of deceased, a release said.
However, RK Chaoba 27, the wife of one among the deceased who was later identified this morning as RK Brajamani alias Bijili 38 son of late RK Amusana of Tera Sapam Leirak said her husband was abducted by the unidentified persons suspected to be security forces in civil dressed along with two others in front of her from inside a bus at Wahengbam Leikai Jiri Parking on October 7 around 6 am while they were trying to visit Jiribam on the that day.
The official release said the incident occurred while the troop of 28 Assam Rilfes on getting specific informations of the movements of some unidentified armed UGs near Sanapat Andro village last mid night the troop conducted their frisking and checking later the troop were fired upon suddenly by the armed militants from the dark, it said.
It further mentioned that the troop made quick alert and retaliated which caused ensuing of encounter for about 15 minutes near Andro Sanapat last night around 11.15 am.
It also said the UGs numbering about five have managed their good escaped by taking advantages of darkness and presence of hills nearby.
It said troops made further search into the encounter site last midnight during which the security forces recovered three bullet ridden bodies at the spot and further the security forces also recovered three 9mm pistols loaded with magazines and some live 9mm ammunitions from the deceased possession.
In the meantime, all three slain cadres were picked up by the Yairipok police from the spot this early morning and brought to RIMS morgue for the official identification.
Condemning the killing, RK Brajamani`s wife said that, she has made request to the unidentified persons to gave the reason for taking away her husband, but one of the Manipuri speaking persons among the abductors informed that she would batter return to her house and informed to the family, as result she along with her one and half years old return son back to her house at Tera Sapam Leirak and informed the incident to the family members, besides, her husband along with two others were whisked away by those unidentified on one Maruti Alto car and one Gypsy on the morning of October 7 from Wahengbam Leikai Jiribam Parking.
She further mentioned, since her husband was abducted on the morning of October 7 from Wahengbam Leikai bus parking, the family were manhunt for her missing wife and even lodged missing complaint to Imphal West district police on the same day of abduction.
She further recalled that her deceased husband was a former member of under ground PREPAK and he had been involved in various cases earlier as a result her husband was detained once under NSA after arrested by the police in connection with Mongsangei killing during the year 2007, and later he attained his normal life after he was released from the Jail, and he was survived by his wife and one son, she added.
She further admitted that, two other deceased who were killed along with her husband were the two persons who were abducted together with her husband on October 7 in front of her by the unidentified persons from the Wahengbam Leikai Jiri Parking she disclosed.
She claimed that, her husband was killed after arrested by the security forces and made appeal to the concerned authorities for delivering the justice by punishing the involved personnel for not repeating the such fake encounter in the state she added.
Dead bodies of all three slain person with multiple bullet injuries, and the two unidentified deceased are still kept at RIMS morgue for the identifications and one among them appears to be Manipuri Muslim and other one looks like Meitei. Kangla Online
