Naxals’ two days bandh call on Wednesday and Thursday

Posted by Admin on November 3, 2009

THE COMMUNIST Party of India (Maoist) on Monday (November 2) announced to observe two days bandh on Wednesday and Thursday of this month. Maisot also urged to implement the bandh under Dandakaranya region successfully. The CPI (Maoist) pasted wall-posters in all important junctions in one and all the places under Dandakaranya region which includes undivided Koraput district, Vishakhapatnam Agency area of Andhra Pradesh and Chhatishgarh.

The bus communication was completely disrupted from Monday onwards from Lakshmipur to Narayanpatna blocks, from Malkangiri to Motu Tehsil, Chitrakonda to Vishakhapatnam. Trees were laid down across the roads to prevent the movement of the bus. The CPI (Maoist) also pasted wall posters in which they appealed to the people to drive out the para-military forces deployed by Central and state governments to curve the Naxal movement in Dandakaranya region.

The Maoists also distributed pamphlets appealing the people to prevent the entry of para-military forces in their respective villages. They also warned to dissolve the so-called ‘peace committees’ formed by the contractors against Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh of Narayanpatna. Meri News
