Imphal, September 20 2009: Referring to a news report published on September 16, about the arrest of AMUCO publicity secretary Likmabam Tompok (50) of Maklang Mayai Leikai, Thiyam Dinesh (39) of Sega Road Takhellambam Leikai, AMUCO finance secretary Chungsel Koireng (39) of Thangmeiband Koireng Khul, assistant finance secretary Irom Brojen (40) of Haorang Khunou, assistant finance secretary Amom Soken (41) of Wangoo Tera, assistant secretary Taorem Ramananda (50) of Patsoi Part I, AMESCO general secretary Samjetsabam Nando (48) of Pangei Awang Leikai and CCDD joint secretary Yumnam Jiten (32) of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi on September 14, the proscribed RPF has debunked the reported police allegation that the arrested civil society leaders were planning a meeting with the RPF/PLA. Manipur: Attack on IRB not intentional, insists RPF

Imphal, September 12, 2009: Claiming that the ambush which killed four IRB personnel and injured six others at Makha Ching (Ningthemcha Karong) near Oksu this morning was undertaken by a team of its army wing PLA, the proscribed RPF has clarified that the ambush was not intentional.

Explaining about the unfortunate incident, a statement issued by the outfit’s department of publicity chief GM Changjou said that a team of PLA cadres were lying in ambush in the area on learning that a central security team was coming there.

At about 10.30 am, a team of security personnel wearing combat uniforms and bullet-proof vests exactly similar to those of central security forces approached the site in a bullet-proof security vehicle followed by Maruti gypsy. Read the rest of this entry »

Imphal, September 06, 2009: Pointing the difference between security forces and the PLA cadres, the proscribed RPF has advised the central security forces to go back to their homes before time runs out.

A press statement issued by the outfit’s department of publicity chief GM Changjou security forces have been working for salaries and are always waiting eagerly for leave.

On the other hand, the insurgents have been fighting valiantly for the motherland putting their lives at stake.It is natural for any two party fighting a battle to use all their resources to finish off the other party.

What is important is respecting international laws applicable in a battle/confrontation, the outfit noted.Till date, the PLA cadres have been acting in conformity to the international laws in all the battles they fought, it claimed. Read the rest of this entry »

Manipur: RPF thanks people, flays CM, MLAs

Imphal, August 06 2009: The proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) today thanked the people of Manipur for having boldly stood up against what the outfit called “terrorist” Manipur police commandos, and also castigated the Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi and the rest of the members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly for callously supporting the Chief Minister in giving permission to the police commandos to continue their killing spree.

A press release issued by GM Changjou, Chief of Department of Publicity, RPF thanked the people, clubs, organisations, etc.
