Manipur: RPF thanks people, flays CM, MLAs

Imphal, August 06 2009: The proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) today thanked the people of Manipur for having boldly stood up against what the outfit called “terrorist” Manipur police commandos, and also castigated the Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi and the rest of the members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly for callously supporting the Chief Minister in giving permission to the police commandos to continue their killing spree.

A press release issued by GM Changjou, Chief of Department of Publicity, RPF thanked the people, clubs, organisations, etc.

for defying the curfew and fighting with the rubber bullets, tear gas shells, etc.of the police commandos using catapults and stones. Read the rest of this entry »

IMPHAL. Aug 4: A combined team of Thoubal Police Commandos and personnel of 34 Assam Rifles reportedly arrested one RPF cadre during frisking and checking of suspected persons at Phoudei village at around 6.30 pm on August 2, according to a delayed statement issued by the Senior SP of Thoubal District Clay Khongsai.
Identifying the arrested RPF cadre as Soraisam Bimol Singh alias Kalidas (26) s/o late S Tombi Singh of Cachar Luithal (Assam) but staying at Kangmong Meisnam Leikai, the SSP conveyed that on questioning, Bimol disclosed that he joined the outlawed organisation in 2003 thro-ugh one Mahesh and got military training at Khong-tal (Myanmar). After train- ing, he as transferred at Mizoram under the command of Mahesh who is in the finance section of the outfit. In 2006, he was transferred to Manipur in divi- sion no. V under the command of one Thebo of Kangmong Kangjeibung and presenting staying at the latter’s home at Kang-mong Kangjeibung with one of his assistant identified as Tomba alias Kiran. From the disclosure of Bimol, the house of Thebo was raided and apprehended him at around 12.30 am of August 3. Read the rest of this entry »

KOZHIKODE: The police have arrested Sinoj alias Ramesan, 32, an activist of the Revolutionary Peoples Front (RPF), a frontal organisation of the CPI (Maoist), from the Chekadi colony at Pulpally in Wayanad on Sunday.

The police also recovered three propaganda CDs, a booklet on Lalgarh and some literature related to Maoists in Nepal. Sinoj was produced in the Judicial First Class Magistrate’s court, Sulthan Batheri, which remanded him in judicial custody.

Sinoj, who hails from Talikkulam in Thrissur district, was picked up by the police from a tribal colony following a tip-off. The colony was under police watch for sometime following information that Maoists were ‘concentrating’ on the area. Read the rest of this entry »
