news_78087901.jpgThe firebrand vice chairman of the Nepal Communist Party–Unified Maoists, Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai, has instructed his party cadres to prepare themselves to re-take up arms.

Dr. Bhattarai, who is currently coordinating the Maoists’ Party led United Peoples’ Uprising Committee, said on Tuesday September 8, 2009, while addressing a program in his home district Gorkha, that to sweep out the incumbent government and to brave the possible repressive measures adopted by the government, our cadres should be ready to re-weapon themselves.

“If the government took repressive measures against our peaceful demonstration, it will invite a disaster of colossal dimension”, he said.

The program was organized by the Maoists’ party affiliated All Nepal Peasants Association.

Dr. Bhattarai opined that the incumbent government was the government of the defeated one which was formed with the support of the foreigners.
