Three woman Maoists killed in fake encounter near AP- Orissa border

Visakhapatnam: Three woman naxalites were killed near Andhra Pradesh and Orissa police near Ramannaguda in Rayagada district of Orissa, about 30 to 40 km from AP border, on Wednesday morning.

According to information received by the Vizianagaram police, the dead included Potanapalli Subhdara, alias Swarna (30), wife of Maoist party’s Srikakulam divisional committee secretary Daya (Chamala Krishnamurthy) and Landa Rajeswari alias Sarada (26), wife of Gora Vallabha Rao alias Murali, Srikakulam divisional committee member. The third was said to be one Jeevani, aged aournd 20, of Rayagada, SP of Vizianagaram Y. Gangadhar said.

Reports said that the AP police tried to pick up Bhaskar and Daya along with two or three top Maoists leaders of Orissa in Rayagada district, who were reportedly meeting in a place between Rayagada and Gummada junction. But the top leaders either did not turn up or escaped while the three women were caught. The Police brought them towards AP border and allegedly shot them dead.

Meanwhile, it was alleged that Modem Balakrishna, alias Bhaskar who is a member of Maoists’ Andhra Orissa Border State Committee and Daya escaped from the scene during the exchange of fire.                               The Hindu
